ZEISS Compact Primes CP.2 have arrived

The lightweight prime lenses are the latest offering from German manufacturer Zeiss and feature a unique interchangeable lens mount. This enables them to be used with both Canon EF mount DSLR cameras as well as all PL mounted cameras, such as RED & the new Arri Alexa.

As a leading supplier of both DSLR-Cinematography equipment & RED Cameras, the decision to purchase Zeiss Compact Primes CP.2 made perfect sense as an addition the Shoot Blue lense inventory.

Jon Howarth, Shoot Blue, joint Managing Director commented on the announcement “Being able to use these directly on a Canon 5D MKII DSLR and have proper focus & iris control is the real deal-breaker with these lenses. The interchangeable lens mount is also a highly significant feature that will widen the number of cameras these can be used on”

He adds “It’s also a coming-of-age sign that shows how seriously DSLRs are now being taken for moving image capture. Our decision to invest in the Compact Primes CP.2 was also driven by the fact they are built to the high optical & mechanical standards that Zeiss are renown for – and also extremely cost-effective to hire – both key factors in the current rentals market.”

The Zeiss Compact Primes CP.2 are the latest investment in DSLR cinematography kit that Shoot Blue have made and follow a recent purchase of a further Canon 1D MKIV DSLR cameras & Chrosziel accessories.
