Belden HD-SDI Cabling & Neutrik Connectors

An often neglected item that all camera equipment rental companies will carry are BNC video cables.

Whilst certainly not the most exciting area of our business, we understand that cabling plays an often critical role during a shoot and signal loss/interruption can by extremely problematic for both the production crew & clients.

In view of this and reflecting the current trend of cameras requiring the use of external HD-SDI recording devices such as the Arri Alexa & Sony PMW-F3, we’ve taken the decision to standardise our video cabling & connectors.

After considerable research & field testing, we’ve decided upon Belden Brilliance 1694F as our cable of choice for location/on-set use. This is a high-specification (exceeding SMPTE 424M specification), flexible cable which we are confident will stand up to heavy-duty use for even the most demanding recording & monitoring applications. Alongside this, we have also selected the Neutrik range of ‘rear-twist’ 75 ohm impedance BNC connectors to use with our video cables.
